Former chief physician and professor at Rigshospitalet's oncology clinic
Mikael Rørth
For more than 50 years, Mikael Rørth has been involved in cancer treatment, as well as consequences of cancer treatment.
Mikael Rørth is one of Danish oncology’s “Grand old men”, who started working with oncology in the mid-70s and helped develop the medical cancer treatment, including especially treatment of testicular cancer. Rørth is still attached to the oncology clinic and is also a professor at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Aarhus University Hospital.
In recent years, Mikael Rørth has particularly focused on the importance of physical activity, and how physical activity can counteract some of the consequences of cancer treatment. For example, through the project FC Prostata where men play football.
Mikael Rørth has also written a book that will make us wiser about cancer. And which should give us the courage to talk openly about the disease with our loved ones.
A wonderfully informative, inspiring and hopeful book disseminated in an understandable way.
